Terms & Conditions
LAST UPDATED — JULY 2026These terms govern engagements between JT Builds Co. ("JT Builds Co.," "we," "us") and clients ("you"). By requesting a consultation or engaging us for services, you agree to the terms below.
Our Services
We design and build websites, identities and logos, local search presence, booking systems, advertising, and related digital services for small businesses, as described on our Services and Pricing pages. The exact scope of any engagement is agreed personally, in a consultation, before work begins.
Fees & Payment
An engagement is a single recurring monthly fee. It covers designing and building the site, hosting it, security, backups, technical maintenance, and minor content updates. There is no separate setup or build charge: the build is recovered through the monthly fee rather than billed before work starts. Substantial work beyond that — redesigns, additional pages, or new features — is quoted separately and agreed before it is carried out. Optional add-ons such as branding, booking, local search, and advertising are quoted on their own. Where we set up or run advertising, our fee covers that work only: the advertising budget itself is paid by you to Google or Meta directly, is set by you, and is not part of what you pay us. Exact pricing and payment terms are quoted and agreed during your consultation and confirmed in writing before work begins.
What You Are Paying For
This is a subscription to a website, not a purchase of one. While the monthly fee is paid, your site is live, hosted, secured and maintained by us. There is no separate build fee, so nothing has been paid to buy the site outright.
Your own material remains yours throughout and is not affected by this agreement: the words you supply, your photographs, your logo, and your domain name, which is registered to your business. You can take all of it with you at any time.
The website itself — the design, the code, and the build we produce — remains the property of JT Builds Co. and is licensed to you for as long as the fee is paid.
The fee covers hosting, security, backups and technical maintenance, so that none of it falls to you to manage. It also covers minor content updates such as new photos, revised copy, pricing, and hours, carried out by us on request. Larger work, such as a redesign, additional pages, or new functionality, falls outside the monthly fee and is quoted separately before it is undertaken.
Your Google Business Profile is handled however you prefer: we can set it up and hand you the login, or manage it as part of your monthly fee. Specific access and handover arrangements for any engagement are confirmed with you directly.
Your Responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate information and any content (photos, copy, logos, and so on) needed to complete your project, and to respond to requests for feedback or approval in a reasonably timely way, since delivery timelines depend on it.
Cancellation
The monthly fee runs month to month and can be cancelled at any time with reasonable notice. There is no minimum term and no long-term contract.
Cancelling ends the subscription, and the website goes offline at the end of the period you have paid for. Because the build was never charged for separately, the site is not transferred and the files are not handed over.
What is yours stays yours. Your domain name points wherever you tell it to, and we will return your written content, your photographs and your logo on request so you can use them with another provider. We will not hold your domain or your own material.
Limitation of Liability
We build and maintain your website and related services with care, but we don't guarantee specific business outcomes — such as a particular volume of leads, bookings, or sales — since those depend on many factors outside our control. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the services.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes affecting an active engagement will be discussed with you directly.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
